Tesco and Virgin have launched a generous offer, giving away 5,000 bonus Virgin Points when you set up auto-exchange for your Clubcard points. This limited-time opportunity runs until 23 January 2025, requiring just 250 Clubcard points in your account to qualify.
How Tesco to Virgin Points Conversion Works
Normally, each Clubcard point converts to 2 Virgin Points. While manual conversions start from £1.50 (150 points), auto-exchange requires a minimum of 250 Clubcard points. Once set up, your points will automatically convert with each quarterly statement.
Setting Up Your Auto-Exchange
Setting up is straightforward through your Tesco Clubcard account. Simply log in, select ‘Clubcard account’, scroll to ‘Clubcard management’, and choose ‘Voucher schemes’. Select ‘Virgin Points’ and enter your Virgin Red ID, which you can find in your Virgin Red account settings. The bonus points will be awarded by 20 February 2025.
Although the terms state you won’t be eligible for the bonus if you have previously used auto-exchange, there have been many times in the past where that didn’t turn out to be the case in practice…
Anything to watch out for?
The main thing to be aware of is that auto-convert means that your entire Clubcard voucher balance will be transferred to Virgin. The bonus therefore works best if you only have a relatively small Clubcard balance.
It’s also worth mentioning that once Clubcard points have been transferred, you cannot reverse the process.
Bottom line
5,000 Virgin Points is a very generous bonus, considering you can trigger it with as little as £2.50 in Clubcard vouchers. Just remember to sign up before 23 January 2025 to secure your bonus.
