What are the rates like?

Generally, very good. If you want to stay in London, I’d stick to using the Merlin sale page as it offers extra perks, but for the other destinations, it’s a potentially great deal.

The best thing is that no pre-payment is required and bookings can be cancelled for free up until 24 hours before the stay. That means you can make as many speculative bookings as you like without tying up any cash, and then decide nearer the time which ones you actually want to keep.

As I’ve noted with previous Radisson sales, to see the best prices, make sure you’re signed into your account and click through to the specific hotel page. The rates shown on the generic destination page are advertised as being the promotional ‘members only’ rates, but are actually the significantly more expensive non-members rates.

Given that signing up to Radisson Rewards is free and takes about 30 seconds, it definitely makes sense to be a member…

Bottom line

At all the examples I looked at, these are consistently the lowest (or joint lowest in London) rates available. The fact that there is no prepayment required means there is no risk – you can book and then cancel or rebook if you decide not to go, or if a better rate turns up nearer the time.
