As part of a “Week of Wonders”, Marriott Bonvoy members can benefit from off-peak award prices at every Marriott Bonvoy property:

• This is valid for award bookings made between 8-15 October, 2020
• This is valid for nights up to 30 November, 2020

It’s also worth remembering that all Marriott Bonvoy members receive the fifth night free when booking 5-night award stays (actually the cheapest of the five nights is free). Although 5 nights is a bit awkward for weekends away or week-long holidays, it’s a great deal if you can manage it…

What About the Pandemic?

It seems to me that October/November travel is already off-peak, and in the midst of a pandemic with countries closed to tourism it ought to be even more so. Yet many Marriott properties were still charging standard or peak date pricing.

Nonetheless, if you fancy using your Marriott points for a quick getaway within the next couple of months, it will cost you fewer points…

You Don’t Need to Cancel and Re-book

If you have some award bookings already made, you will want to refresh those. You don’t need to cancel and re-book however. You can simply “View / Modify” your existing booking, and you should be able to follow the process through to a refund of any excess points paid. I’ve already received a 5,000 point refund from a stay I adjusted in this manner.

The Bottom Line
