Royal Air Maroc Joins Oneworld

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has been an official member of the oneworld alliance since April 1. The alliance includes airlines like Qatar Airways , British Airways , Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, Finnair and more. LATAM is still part of oneworld, but will leave the alliance at the end of this year.

Royal Air Maroc is a good addition to the alliance as the airline is the first major member on the African continent.

During normal times (ie. without the COVID-19 situation) RAM flies to a wide range of European destinations, including the UK. From Morocco, passengers can then fly further to destinations in Africa, Middle East, South America and North America.

oneworld elite status

The fact that the airline is now part of the alliance is also good news for frequent flyers. For example, if you have saved Avios with British Airways’ Executive Club, you can now spend them on flights with Royal Air Maroc. In addition, you can earn Avios and Tier Points from paid flights with RAM too.

If you have elite status with a oneworld frequent flyer programme, you can now benefit from it when flying with Royal Air Maroc. The precise perks will depend on whether your status is equivalent to oneworld Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald status . You will receive the following benefits for Ruby status:

Priority on waiting lists and on standby

As a Sapphire member you will receive these benefits:
