During a press conference this evening, President Trump stated that the United States “may add” the United Kingdom to its European travel ban. He also indicated that there might be the possibility of some countries currently on the list being taken off it – should the coronavirus infection numbers in those countries remain steady or improve.

As is often the case with President Trump, it is difficult to know whether this was just an off-the-cuff remark that will be ‘clarified’ soon, or a serious shift in policy. If you are due to be flying to/from the US soon, keep a very close eye on the news and you may want to consider taking an earlier flight if possible.
