Possibly – but always shop around!

In particular, if you are booking at least 21 days in advance, make sure you have a look at the Hertz Partner Rates too. These are available to anyone who has a Hertz account (takes 2 minutes to sign up).

As an example, let’s take a random Friday night in Leeds in January (exotic!) to compare the prices.

Here are the lowest prices in the cyber sale:

And here are the same hotels on the same date using the Hertz Partner Rate:

As you can see, every single hotel is cheaper using the Partner Rate – some of them considerably so.

In case you’re wondering, Partner Rates do earn IHG Points – this is included explicitly towards the end of the Rate Description:

If you don’t have proof of Hertz membership with you when checking in, fill in one of the forms here, just in case you’re asked (unlikely but it does happen from time to time).

Conclusion

The cyber sale promo isn’t terrible and might save you a few quid – particularly if you are booking within 21 days of your stay or are travelling outside Europe (partner rate is Europe only).

Don’t forget to take a look at the partner rate though and consider other hotel options too before you book!

The Cyber Sale promotion is valid only for bookings made from November 11, 2019 through December 17, 2019 using the “Cyber Sale” & “Cyber Sale – IHG® Rewards Club Member Rate” rate(s). All bookings must be consumed by May 31, 2020 at participating IHG® hotels and resorts. The discount is up to 20% off the Best Flexible Rate with an additional 5% discount for IHG® Rewards Club members. Booking requires non-refundable, full pre-payment for the entire stay at the time of booking. Advance purchase requirements and discount vary by hotel. Blackout dates apply and rooms are subject to availability. Certain room types may be excluded from the promotion. Hotel policy varies in regard to the minimum length of stay required and number of guests allowed per room. Not applicable with other discounted rate promotions. Not applicable to group bookings.
