IHG Rewards Club has brought back the “Accelerate” branding for its summer 2019 promotion. As usual, each member will receive individual targets.
Accelerate will run from 1 May until 31 August, 2019. You can register and find your personal targets by clicking here.
It used to be possible to earn thousands of bonus points for 4-5 nights, as long as you planned your IHG stays very carefully. Lately IHG has been rather less generous. Here is what my targets look like:
46,000 points for 8 paid nights isn’t particularly attractive to me – as most attractive hotels now cost 40,000+ points per night – plus I would need to book expensive bonus point packages and an award night. Make sure to leave a comment with your own targets, and let us know how you feel about them…

After just spending almost a million points on IC hotels for our USA trip in the coming months, it looks as if I will struggle to get back to that and it also looks as if I will earn more in points for stays over this period over and above what the campaign is offering! That’s probably the lowest target I’ve ever seen set for myself.

Obviously not happy with me as I managed to earn some cheap points with the last accelerate!.
There are several reports on FT of glitches in registering. I’d try again in a few days…

🙁 You’d think that Accelerate has been around long enough that the IT would be sorted.
127k possible for me, which is possibly because I haven’t stayed at an IHG property for a year.
Signed in, email back telling me I have been accepted but no target shown to me!
After the glitches – ‘you’re not eligible’ etc, a bit of patience offers me 46000 potential points over 7 nights in 4x brands including 2x weekend stays.. Not as good as last ‘third’ where I gained 88,000 bonus points over 8 nights [plus a free 50k+ night courtesy of the Met Leeds] but workable. Nothing to moan about here. No target for completing ‘all the offers’ this time which makes things easier.
