Iberia Plus has been running some pretty impressive promotions over the last year or so. The latest is a 2-for-1 offer on reward flights! You must book between 1-12 March, 2019 and fly between 1 March and 30 June, 2019. (with the exception of 18-22 April (i.e. Easter))

Before you get too carried away though, not all destinations are included. The promotion is only valid for flights on Iberia and Iberia Express between Madrid and:

• Spain
• Europe
• North Africa

Air Nostrum flights are also eligible – for to travel on or after 1 April – except for return flights on the following routes: MAD-RJL (La Rioja), MAD-MLN (Melilla), MAD-BJZ (Badajoz), MAD-BIQ (Biarritz) and MAD-SXB (Strasbourg).

You aren’t quite receiving two reward tickets for the price of one either, since you must pay the taxes and surcharges associated with the second reward ticket. However you won’t be charged any additional Avios for your companion.

And, finally, your Iberia Plus account needs to be registered to an address in Spain. It might already be so registered, if you took advantage of the 50%-discount promotion in January / early February!

Conclusion

Although I like the effort that Iberia Plus is making with its promotions, this one will be a bit tricky for most British residents to take advantage of – unless of course you fancy taking your better half to Madrid or perhaps North Africa. Otherwise connecting in Madrid is going to be too inconvenient for most short-haul itineraries, even if the second ticket doesn’t cost you any Avios – and don’t forget that Iberia Plus doesn’t have Reward Flight Saver to cap taxes and surcharges…
