Is Oman Air Business Class any good?
Really good!
There are currently two Oman Air Business Class products on the market. The old Business Class is very popular as it feels more like an old-fashioned First Class than Business,
but the new Business Class is meant to be extremely good too:
What Miles can I earn?
Oman Air is not a member of any of the big alliances, but you can earn Etihad Guest Miles at a rate of 150% of flown Miles. A Return to Bangkok, for example, would therefore earn about 18,000 Miles. Remember that you can easily pool Etihad Miles in a family account, so could potentially earn a very useful amount if there’s more than one person flying.
Alternatively, you could get 200% of the flown Miles in Oman Air’s own Sindbad loyalty programme, but I confess to total ignorance about Sindbad…
Bottom line
You have to reposition to Paris to take advantage of these fares, which obviously adds to the expense, but it should still work out pretty good value overall. Besides, it’s surely tough to argue that a night or two in Paris is really too much of a negative…

Any of those routes have the new Business Class ?
Which planes have it ?
Very tempted now Qatar has annoyed me.
Boobaholic says
FYI. Your momodo links are searching economy 🙁
Well, Mumbai and Bangkok are anyway.

Grrr, I’m blaming our friends from IF Germany that I nicked the links from! Cheers for letting me know!

Actually I quite fancy the old business class !
Joe Deeney says
I’m not sure, but you should be able to tell from the seatmaps on the Oman Air site I imagine. Aye, as you say though, both look good so I’d be happy either way.
What happened with Qatar?
Pangolin says
A massive devaluation of award miles, without any warning, with a post-hoc justification under the guise of ‘enhancements’.
Joe Deeney says
Ah yes, there was that of course! I’d assumed nobody really collected QMiles (well, certainly not many IF readers anyway) – but definitely pretty horrible for anyone caught up in it 🙁
