Hilton Honors used to be known for ‘Double Dip’ – earning both airline miles and hotel points for the same stay – but this is sadly going to be enhanced away in April 2018 (click here for details).

Perhaps World of Hyatt is planning to jump into the marketing space left vacant by Hilton? For now, we are getting a promotion offered by American Airlines AAdvantage and World of Hyatt.

For every paid or award stay at Hyatt Place or Hyatt House hotels between 20 February and 30 June, 2018, you can opt to receive:

• AA miles only – 1,000 bonus miles + 500 base miles
• Points + AA Miles – 1,000 bonus miles + your usual Hyatt points (5 per USD spent)

Now, I’ve never chosen to earn miles at a Hyatt property before, and I’m wary of screwing up my usual points and status credit earning, but a free and simple 1,000 miles per Hyatt Place / Hyatt House stay is pretty close to irresistible since I’ve got a handful of HP/HH stays planned…

This promotion should also stack with the 25,000 bonus point promotion I wrote about previously although you probably must choose to earn points (which you should be doing anyhow).
