I’ve recently written about the genuine improvements to Heathrow Rewards, the loyalty scheme of Heathrow Airport. Heathrow Rewards has now brought back a good promotion: you will earn 3,000 bonus for signing up via the promotion page and spending 150 GBP in one day by 31 December 2018.

Although this is nominally an Avios promotion, you will receive the bonus as Heathrow Rewards Points. This means that you are free to transfer them to any of the partner airline schemes:

Things to consider

• Only new account registrations qualify. Sign up via the promotion page using promo code AVIOSAO18.
• If you already have an account, why not open one for your in-laws or someone in your extended family? Because you can only register one account per address, I would NOT recommend registering your partner or kids… Once the bonus has been triggered, either contact Heathrow Rewards to move the points across to your account; or transfer them to an airline partner allowing household accounts (e.g. Avios); or use them for parking or shopping at Heathrow.
• There are reports on the net of people opening accounts in random names and then simply asking Heathrow Rewards to transfer the triggered bonus into their actual account. I would personally refrain from doing so as this could lead to your account being suspended.
