Good deal?

I’d say so, yes.

You’re getting 14 bottles of wine, a couple of nice glasses and 1,000 Avios for £54.99-£59.88. If you value the Avios at £10 and the glasses at £5, that’s effectively 14 bottles of wine for £40-£45, which works out at £2.86-£3.22 per bottle.

I can’t vouch for the quality of the wine, but even if it’s not great, you can always pour it for the neighbours you don’t really like that much, or the family member who has most definitely outstayed their welcome (petty passive aggression is what Christmas is all about, right?). More seriously, unless you’re a bit of a wine buff or have very specific tastes, I imagine you’ll find most of it perfectly drinkable.

There’s also a 100% refund guarantee, “If you don’t like a wine, for whatever reason, you’ll be refunded in full. No problem.”, though I have no experience of whether that’s actually as good as advertised.

Watch out!

Note that if you take advantage of the offer, you will be automatically signed up to the Laithwaites Wine Plan, where they send you (and charge £100!) more wine every 4-12 weeks. Unless you think you might really love the wine, I would highly recommend cancelling the subscription as soon as your introductory case arrives.

If you purchase a case of wine under this introductory offer, you are joining a Laithwaite’s Wine Plan and these terms apply in addition to our Wine Plan terms and conditions.
