Theyre making no secret that this is all part of the current Uber-bashing taking place. In their own words:

Following today’s news that Uber will not have their license renewed, Until the end of September, we’ll be undercutting UberX rides with a discount off mytaxi in London, with 50% off.

Customers deserve a seamless, technology-enabled fleet of professional taxis with drivers who are proud to offer a superior service and have devoted the equivalent of a degree to their trade. That’s what mytaxi is proud to offer in London.

How does MyTaxi work?

Formerly Hailo, the MyTaxi app lets you hail black cabs registered to it in London via your smartphone. Fares are exactly the same as black cabs hailed on the street, and you can then pay via your registered card on the app.

How to get the discount

• If you don’t yet have the MyTaxi app, download it for free on Android or iOS.
• 50% of your fare will automatically be discounted from trips that finish before 23:59 on Sunday 1 October.
• To receive the discount, you must hail with the mytaxi app, and ensure that you’re paying with the in-app card payment option.
• Cash payments are excluded from the promotion, and the tip to driver is not included in the discount.

Anything better?
