Travelodge is offering some characteristically good value at the moment, through the ability to stack cheap rates, a discount code and generous cashback. Put it all together and you can bag yourself some hotel bargains!
Cheap rates
It won’t be a surprise to hear that Travelodge offers good value hotel rates. For example, central London hotels for ~£40 is fairly common on quieter dates:
In outer London and most of the rest of the country you can regularly find rates for even less.
Cashback
For the next 2 days, cashback site Quidco is offering 5% for 1-night Travelodge stays and 12% for stays of 2 or more nights.
What’s particularly good about these rates is that you can stack them with a 15% discount code and still get the cashback too!
Even better – if you don’t already have a Quidco account, simply sign up through this exclusive link and you will receive £10 bonus cashback after earning just £5 standard cashback.
Discount code
Use the code SUMMER2017 on the final payment screen to take 15% off the price. Don’t use any other codes that might pop up on the Travelodge site as that might potentially invalidate your cashback.
Put it all together
The Travelodge Wembley can be had for £24 on some dates this Summer. Use the discount code SUMMER2017 to take it down to £20.40:
If you were staying one night, you would receive 5% cashback from Quidco, or 12% for two or more nights.
What are Travelodge hotels like?
Basic, but usually absolutely fine in my experience.
As always, check the reviews for the particular property you are interested in as quality isn’t necessarily terribly consistent.
If you don’t mind spending a little more, it might be worth considering a Travelodge ‘SuperRoom’ (currently available at select properties in London). I’ve written about SuperRooms before, but essentially they are newly refurbished rooms with a few extra comforts like a Lavazza coffee machine, Hansgrohe rain-shower etc.
When available, SuperRooms are priced at £15 more than standard rooms.
Conclusion
~£20 for a hotel in London is tough to beat and the cashback certainly doesn’t hurt either.
Travelodges are’t luxurious, but for times when you just need a good value bed for a night or two, they can definitely serve a purpose.
