Rocketmiles is a hotel booking service that rewards you with airline miles for booking hotels through it.

The basic premise is that you will earn between 1,000 and 10,000 frequent flyer miles in one of a number of airline programmes, per night.

Rates on Rocketmiles are certainly sometimes more expensive than you will find elsewhere (with a bit of searching), but if you value the frequent flyer miles highly or, in particular, a bonus is being offered, booking through Rocketmiles can be a good value option.

The current Avios bonus

One such bonus is currently available to new users via Avios. In addition to the 1,000-10,000 Avios you will earn every night with every hotel booking made, you’ll also collect 50% bonus Avios.

The Avios bonus is valid on your first booking only, and applies to stays made up to 30 September 2017. Clearly, this bonus is better value the more Avios you are earning on the stay. So, if you can apply this to a heavy Avios-earning night (have a look on the Rocketmiles site to see which hotels earn what Avios), then you could be getting a serious bonus. An additional 5k Avios points a night, for example, is well worth considering.
