Hilton Honors usually sells Points for 0.78p (1 cent) each, so with the 50% discount it works out at ~ 0.39p (0.5 cents) per Point:

Good offer?

Hilton Honors frequently offers either a 50% discount or a 100% bonus for purchasing Points (which amount to the same thing), so unless you need the Points soon, I wouldn’t be in a big rush to buy.

~ 0.39p (0.5 cents) per Point is more or less what I value Hilton Points at, which makes speculative purchases unattractive. With a specific redemption in mind though, you can definitely get good value here. Examples include:

• Category 1 and Category 2 stays for ~£20 and ~£40 per night
• A few very expensive high Category hotels, like the Conrad Maldives
• Properties that charge expensive resort fees on cash bookings

It’s also worth bearing in mind that Points bookings are flexible and that there isn’t any additional tax to pay, so you need to compare like with like when calculating whether buying and redeeming Points is better value than paying cash (also factor in the Points you would earn from a cash stay though). Silver, Gold and Diamond members receive the 5th night free when using Points, which can also impact the value you get.

I should also point out that the new Points and Money awards mean that you are very unlikely to actually lose out by buying at this price.

Bottom line

Whether half price Hilton Honors Points is a deal worth taking advantage of depends entirely on your circumstances. It’s about as good an offer as we ever see from Hilton, but it pops up regularly and is available until 23rd June, so there is certainly no rush.
