Availability for the cheap flights is limited to a handful of dates in June, but still!
Combine it with an Avios Reward Flight Saver from London to Athens (8,500-10,000 Avios + £17.50) and you’ve got an absolute bargain.
Searching by month on Skyscanner is probably the easiest way to quickly see what dates are still available.
I’m mentioning this not because it’s really all that practical for many readers (obviously it’s a great deal if it does work for you though!), but because of the broader trend it illustrates.
We are increasingly familiar with seriously cheap flights between Europe and North America thanks to Norwegian etc (indeed there’s a sale at the moment with flights to New York from ~£91), and it’s fantastic to see more options heading East opening up now too.
The fact that these sort of cheap flights can usually be booked one-way is particularly useful for Points/Miles collectors too, as it allows us to use our Miles when there’s the biggest benefit. For example, I have no problem at all flying Economy from Europe to the USA in Economy (East Coast anyway – the cheaper the better!), but would usually much rather fly in Business or First Class for the overnight back. Unless you have a Miles balance in the millions, having the option to ‘target’ your redemptions where you get the most value is very useful.
I hope (and expect) to see more of this sort of thing in the near future!
Aside from the flight to ATH, one should also factor in the price of an overnight stay in Athens. The flight from ATH to SIN departs at 11:30 in the morning.
I’d say do the math first.
