Some in the Miles & Points hobby have mixed feelings about Accor Hotels Le Club because of the fixed monetary value of 1 point = 2 eurocents. This makes for a lack of arbitrage as there is no chance of bagging a room offered at an expensive cash rate for a relatively modest amount of Points. Whilst true, I don’t think this properly considers the other side of the equation – the frequent promotions that improve your earning rate quite significantly.
Boost Promotion
This is especially true for Accor’s current Boost promotion offering up to 6,000 bonus points, worth 120 euros (approx. £100). Here’s how it works:
⦁ earn 500 bonus points (worth €10) on your first stay of 2 nights or more;
⦁ earn 2,500 bonus points (worth €50) on your second stay of 2 nights or more;
⦁ earn 3,000 bonus points (worth €60) on your second of 2 nights or more
To take advantage of this promotion, you must register here first, and then book by 23 May. The promotion is valid for stays between 9 May and 3 September 2017.
This is a very generous promotion and could work out quite nicely if you fancy giving Accor a try.
Let’s assume you book 3 weekend getaways in the Happy Mondays promotion, which sells last-minute hotels rooms in the UK for as little as £25 per night on weekends (we’ve covered the recurring Happy Mondays promotion on InsideFlyer before, see here). To bag the bonus points, each stay must be at least 2 nights long, so that comes out to £50 per stay. This means that in total you’d spend £150 but you would get back approx. £100 worth of Accor Points!
Bear in mind that you can still earn chunky amounts of cashback on top, when you click through from TopCashback or Quidco.
Other Promotions
The Boost promotion isn’t the only way to improve your Accor Points earning rate. Here’s a list of the other promotions currently available. You must register for each promotion individually and carefully note the strict booking date and valid stay date requirements.

⦁ 12,000 points (worth €240) for taking out a two-year print and digital subscription at £315 (approx. €365)
See here for details and full t&c.
This is a very generous promotion offering a substantial rebate on your Economist subscription, although it is a rebate that you would need to spend at an Accor property…
Bottom line
Accor Le Club offers frequent promotions that improve your Points earning rate quite substantially, so it is worth checking out the ‘Offers’ section on the Accorhotels website before booking a room. The current Boost promotion can offer a substantial rebate on your room invoice, especially if you are staying in one of the cheaper Accor brands like Ibis.
