I posted last month about a fantastic offer for free breakfast when staying at Novotel or Mercure Hotels in the UK (+ free cocktails at Novotels). The offer is extremely generous and runs until the end of March so I thought it was worth a quick reminder.

The reason why the offer is so generous is because it can be used regardless of how cheap the rate you book is – and therefore stacks perfectly with Accor’s brilliant ‘Happy Mondays’ rates, where Novotel and Mercure Hotels outside London are just £40 (£60 in London).
I’ve taken advantage of the offers a few times personally now and haven’t had any problems at all – although I would recommend emailing in advance just make certain.

Also, don’t forget cashback – currently 8.4% with TopCashback for stays at Novotel or Mercure Hotels.
That brings the real cost down to £36.64 per night. Add a couple of breakfasts (~£24) and cocktails (~£12), and your actual stay is effectively free if you’d buy those things normally when staying at a hotel!
Bottom line
Happy Mondays is my favourite recurring offer for UK hotels – being able to book decent 4*s in city centres for £40 every week is fantastic. Stacking that with cashback and getting free breakfast + cocktails included too is an incredible deal!

I used both of these vouchers at the Novotel in Manchester a few weeks ago, I was lucky to get the one staff member there that actually had seen them before otherwise I doubt they would have been honoured. It seems as if there has been no instruction from central management to hotels about these promos and I was made to feel a bit guilty for having my free cocktail, even though it was non-alcoholic since I was on Dryanuary!
Sorry to hear that. I’ve used them there too and had a great experience! They were certainly a bit confused but very helpful. Ended up with 4 cocktails for 3 people (2 rooms) and room service breakfast without even a tray charge.
