As we’ve previously noted, when it comes to bagging yourself some easy Avios or Virgin miles, not many options come close to Tesco Clubcard.

In short, £2.50 in Tesco Clubcard vouchers gets you 600 Avios points (or 625 Virgin Flying Club miles). With this in mind, any opportunities to bag free or easy Tesco Clubcard points should be seen as a great chance to get some really good value Avios points or Virgin miles.

So, onto the deal… Tesco recently introduced a new mobile payment app, PayQwiq (available on both Android and iPhone) which lets you pay instantly in-store using your phone. As it also stores your Clubcard details, you’ll automatically get your Clubcard points, too.

The key point is that until 16 October, new users of PayQwiq will get 100 bonus Tesco Clubcard points for each each of the first five times they use the app.

The only real catch is that you can only use the app at Tesco stores (and petrol stations) in:

• London
• Edinburgh
• Northern Ireland
• Plymouth

There is no minimum spend requirement, and the bonus Clubcard points will be added to your Clubcard account within three weeks of payment.
