The excellent Qatar Airways has some great fares right now from the UK to Asia. There are a whole host of exciting destinations like Hong Kong, Bangkok, Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur, from Birmingham, Manchester, and Edinburgh.
There are far too many potential options to go through so I’ll just highlight a few and walk you through how to search for the best deals yourself.
The dates when the best prices are available vary for each origin and destination, but generally speaking there seems to be good deals from September until next Spring.
Birmingham:
- Hong Kong: £256
- Shanghai: £286
- Kuala Lumpur: £329
- Bangkok: £336
Edinburgh:
- Kuala Lumpur: £291
- Shanghai: £309
- Kota Kinabalu: £320
- Bangkok £322
Manchester:
Bangkok: £336
Example: Birmingham to Hong Kong 4th October – 18th October = £252.42
To search for yourself, go to Skyscanner and select Return flights. Then, put UK in the “From” box, and wherever you want to go (Hong Kong, for example) in the “To” box. When you click on date, select “Whole Month” and choose whichever month you want to look at first.
You can see the cheapest prices for that month from a full range of UK airports:
Choose your airport, and pick the dates you want:
Once the results have loaded, select the booking site you want:
Voila! (as they don’t say in Hong Kong, or Birmingham for that matter…)
Return flights for £250-£320 from the UK to Asia on a decent airline is a cracking deal, and the fact there are so many options and dates available makes it even better!
Don’t forget that you can earn Avios from Qatar Airways flights too – just remember to add your British Airways Executive Club number to the booking at some point before the flight. According to the BA Calculator you should end up with 3,628 and a handy 80 Tier Points too from Birmingham to Hong Kong via Doha, for example.
