Formerly GetTaxi, global taxi booking company Gett is expanding aggressively in the UK, and you can take advantage with a straightforward £5 free credit via this link.

Gett is basically a more regulated/less controversial version of Uber.

It allows you to book a black cab, either on a meter or fixed price basis (you choose). As with uber etc, you can pay via the app (or by cash should you choose). Needless to say, you can also track your approaching cab and watch it arrive on a live map on your phone.

In addition to the “licensed cabs only” approach, another positive distinction from Uber is that Gett has no “surge pricing”, perhaps the most unpopular element to Uber.
