The Hilton at Dublin Airport is about a ten minute drive from the airport terminals. Picking up from the coach park, about 10 minutes walk from Terminal 1, the transfer coach runs about every 45 minutes.
The hotel itself is on the intersection of two main roads and there is a Tesco store about 5 minutes away if you want snacks or drinks.
The rooms are of the light wood type with large windows which makes them bright and airy.
I booked the cheapest room and was offered an EUR50 upgrade to a suite which cleared the day before. I was able to check-in using the Hilton app and select my suite from the small number that they have available.
I was lucky to get out to the pick-up point for the bus about 5 minutes before it came.
The bus has about 7 seats and I have never seen it full.
The staff greeted me a a Diamond HHonors member, provided the WiFi code and directed me to my room.
The suites have a separate sitting and sleeping area which is, I always think, the point of a suite.
The sitting area has two large sofas, a table, TV, desk and table for two suitable for room service. There is a standalone loo and wash hand basin.
The bedroom, which leads to the large bathroom has a separate TV, wardrobe with bath robes.
The bathroom has a large bath tub and a walk in shower as well as a wash basin and loo.
I slept well and made my way down for breakfast the next morning.
The buffet contained a large number of hot and cold items and provided a great way to start the day. As a Diamond HHonors member they gave me the whole run of the items for free.
After finishing packing, I went to catch the bus. The bus dropped off at Terminal 2 and as it was raining very hard I walked to Terminal 1 via the bridge.
It was a good stay and the combination of a cheap rate and a modest upgrade gave me a good stay in a nice room.

There’s a PDF timetable of the buses on their website, and the Maps & Directions page. Worth checking in advance, to see if you need to run to catch a bus on arrival! I’ve only ever seen the bus full in the morning heading back to the airport
The restaurant / bar area can feel a bit big and soulless, but the food’s quite good and reasonably priced
For anyone with a longer layover, there’s a bus from basically outside the hotel into Dublin, ask staff at reception for details. Avoids the need to get the hotel shuttle to the airport to get a bus from there, and quite a bit cheaper too!
