Earn 2,500 ‘Miles&More’ Miles with EVERY Hilton Stay

Hilton Honors has launched a very generous Miles&More (the loyalty programme for Lufthansa, Swiss, etc) promotion, offering 2,500 Miles per stay.

You need to register for  the promo here and complete any stays by 31st October 2018. If you’re having trouble with the registration link (I did), Hilton Honors social media teams are usually pretty good at resolving things, though I’m still waiting to hear back from them this time.

According to the terms, 1-night stays are absolutely fine and there is no limit to the amount of times you can earn the bonus Miles. Note that booking consecutive 1-night stays at the same hotel would very likely result in the stays being merged and you only receiving the bonus for 1 stay.

It’s unclear whether you would also earn Hilton Honors Points as well, but I think you probably do. Either way, there’s certainly no harm in registering for the current double Points promotion too.

Bottom line

Another good offer from Hilton (particularly if it stacks with earning Honors Points). If you don’t mind a bit of hotel hopping and find yourself in a city with some of the world’s cheapest Hiltons, you could do very nicely indeed!

The current Summer Sale has plenty of bargains here in the UK and in more exotic destinations too.

Joe, it’s a great offer but are you sure it’s not targeted? Usually when targeted offers get publicised the links don’t work properly.

I have the same issue as Andrew H above – I keep getting thrown back to the same landing page.

2500 miles per stay actually seems too good to be true, when you consider how cheap some places are (for points or cash). I can stay in various airport Hamptons for 10K or around £40-£50 (prepaid).

The previous M&M promo was very generous – 1500 miles for stay (1), 2000 for stay (2) and 2500 for stay (3) and all subsequent stays. This was a great deal for me as it was active during the time I did the Diamond challenge, but 2500 miles for *every* stay is even better (if I can ever register)!

    • Joe Deeney says

Hard to be 100%, but there’s nothing I can see in the terms to suggest it’s targeted and I’ve read elsewhere that people managed to get it added without problem by contacting Hilton Honors. I do agree it seems unnecessarily generous though, so fingers crossed!

While I registered online prior to completing a stay at Hilton Honors.com/lufthansaQ12018 and completed an eligible stay at the St Louis Union Station Hotel (a participating hotel or resort within the Hilton Honors portfolio) between February 1, 2018, through March 25, 2018, I never received my 1500 miles. Granted it was an award stay, but I did have incidential charges to my room ($5.00)…was that not enough to trigger the award? Or must the stay itself be a paid stay? Same question applies to this promotion.

    • Pangolin says

My recollection of the Q1 offer was that they had to be cash stays, so just having an incidental charge on an award stay wouldn’t work. I had a mixture of paid and award stays during the period and I don’t recall ever receiving the bonus miles on award stays.

      • Julien says

I contacted Hilton on Twitter and they confirmed that award stays with incidental charges count, but I wouldnt’t trust them 100%

Registered easily ,first time, using the link provided.
It says the earning and redemption of Points, is subject to Hilton Honors Terms and Conditions, so pints stay should count.

    • Andrew H says

24 hrs after my first attempt, it’s worked fine! Exactly the same as the last Hilton promo you had an article on – didn’t work on day 1 and worked fine on day 2.

      Thanks for the reminder Sharat!

  4. Sharat says

    Hi Joe
How are the points transferred? Do I link my miles and more account with Hilton
    – if so how?
    Thanks

    • Joe Deeney says

Yep, the Miles should get credited automatically in your M&M account, but you need to link it to your Hilton account first. Login to your Hilton account, scroll down to the heading on the left that says “My Profile”, then click on “preferences”, scroll down to “Preferred Travel Partners”, add your M&M account details, make sure M&M is ticked as your preferred travel partner and to hit save changes.

What is the best way to earn these mileage points? Is it okay to book a Hilton for one night, not stay there or check in, and still earn points?

    • Craig Sowerby says

You have to check-in to earn miles/points/status credit. I doubt you’d find a cheap enough Hilton near to home/work so that a mattress run makes sense for 2,500 miles.

  6. Andrew H says

Quick question. Will earning the Miles & More points extend the lifetime of my existing Miles & More points? I seem to recall there were VERY few ways of doing this.

    • Craig Sowerby says

No. M&M has a hard expiry policy of 3 years.

You used to get around this with the MBNA credit card. The only other way I’m aware of extending M&M life is to obtain status. (but they don’t status match AFAIK)

      • Andrew H says

Thanks. It’s frustrating. Last night I extended the lifetime of my soon to be expiring points in IHG, Marriott, Starwood and E-Rewards in a matter of minutes without spending a single penny. If only I could do the same with Lufthansa!

    • Craig Sowerby says

Just had a points stay post to my account. No miles. (I put some charges on the room to give me a better chance)

Only proviso is that I booked the stay before the promo went live, so I might not have properly had M&M set as my default preference.

  7. Sharat says

Does any one know that if I book a point stay with a family member but don’t stay myself – so just my family member stays , will this count as a stay for me?

    • Craig Sowerby says

A lot can go wrong. But in theory you can book the stay using your points, set the family member as an additional guest and they can check in fine without you.

If the hotel figures out that the member has no intention of showing up, they can decide to not provide elite benefits or stay credit. Or, they might not care and you get everything…

    • Joe Deeney says

Yep, my experience (hundreds of bookings over the years with various chains) is that it’s almost always absolutely fine, but it isn’t guaranteed – do don’t rely on it.
