Hip Escapes is a travel bargain hunter’s dream: it allows you to access discounts of up to 70% at fantastic hotels – for real!

The mechanics of how the site works and how you earn credit to discount the hotels you want to book haven’t really changed since I first wrote about it 2 years ago (then called Sheradill), so I would recommend having a read of that post if you haven’t already seen it.

I have used Sheradill / Hip Escapes a few times myself and the experience was extremely positive each time. The highlight was booking “Europe’s Leading Boutique Hotel”, Vila Joya, for my parents for £28.75 per night, rather than £287.50 per night.

Since then, the maximum discount has been changed to 70%, rather than the 90% that used to be possible.
