Hilton Sending Out Bonus Points Offers by Post?

I wrote quite recently about a targeted Hilton Honors status challenge offer, where you could get Gold status after just 2 stays. Hilton also regularly sends out targeted ‘winback’ bonus Points offers to members who haven’t stayed for a while – but these offers tend to be sent by email. I was therefore surprised to spot something interesting from Hilton Honors in the post recently…

The other side of the card contained an offer for 10,000 bonus Honors Points, after completing 2 stays by the end of August:

It seems like a pretty good offer, so I tried to find the terms and conditions to see whether Points stays would count or not. Unfortunately, the best I could find was the line at the bottom saying “Terms and conditions may apply”, which isn’t hugely helpful.

I logged in online to see if the offer could be seen on the account, but there is no sign at all of it in the “My Offers” section there.

The text on the card says that “There’s no registration required. Just book your next stay at Hilton.com or through the Hilton Honors app”. That sounds simple enough, but I’d be a bit happier if there were some actual terms provided somewhere, or at least a mention of the offer on the Hilton Honors account.

Bottom line

I value 10,000 Hilton Honors Points at about £40, so the bonus is effectively offering £20 back for each of the 2 stays, which is a pretty good additional rebate, on top of cashback and standard Points earnings. I’ll probably give it a spin, but won’t be surprised if actually getting the Points turns out to be a bit of a struggle.

Anyway, the moral of the story is to take a quick glance at your junk mail before you get rid of it – occasionally there might be something actually worth reading.

Have you received one of these offers? More importantly, has anyone completed the offer and actually got the bonus Points?

I’ve got one of these. I wondered about the Ts and Cs as well! Will just keep the card and hope it helps if I struggle getting the points.

It is two separate stays and not a stay of two consecutive days isn’t it? I wasn’t sure.

I got one of these as well. It says two or more nights not ‘stays’. It doesn’t say when the offer starts – I have just had a 3 night stay few weeks ago- will that count?
I have also booked another stay of two rooms in a months time – will that count?
Also registered for double points promotion. – but actually got only 2000 bonus points with a base stay of 5100 points? However there were another 500 points given as an incentive bonus! I can’t really figure out how this works!

      Hi Sharat,

As regards the promo in the post, your guess is as good as mine to be honest – I really hate the lack of clear terms and conditions.

Double Points certainly should mean double Points – if you’re sure the base Points earned were 5,100 (remember that base Points doesn’t include any status bonuses etc), definitely get in touch with Hilton Honors and they should sort it out nice and quick.

    Hi Joe,
I asked HH online and by email, about the 10k bonus point offer and no one has any clue about it. I really do not know what to make of it.

I have had more on this now from HH- looks like this is a hoax!
        HH says:
“This promotion is an exclusive offer and is open only to the Honors member who received the email from Hilton Honors™ announcing this promotion. The marketing department uses different techniques and tools in order to select Honors members, to whom the offer will be send.

We regret to inform you that we will not be able to add the promotion to your account manually. Please look forward to our future promotions. “

Haha, even weirder! The cards are definitely from Hilton Honors (surely!), presumably some sort of UK-specific or Europe/EMEA Region initiative – classic case of one part of the business having no idea what another part is doing. I mean, there are no emails involved here, just the cards (in my case anyway), so I’m not sure what they’re referring to there.

Hopefully someone who got a card will have done the required stays soon and we can see if the Points turn up.
