Frequent Traveler University is a series of seminars devoted to teaching miles and points enthusiasts the best way to maximise their frequent flyer miles, hotel points and credit card rewards. FTU’s first ever event in the United Kingdom will be taking place at the Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel on 12-13 May, 2018.

I know that £149 isn’t as cheap as reading a blog or two, nor is a weekend at Heathrow necessarily all that appealing. (I think that the transfer would involve FTU needing to void my ticket and create a new one, that can be matched with a photo ID at check-in, and I think their official deadline for that may have passed, but I can certainly check).
Oh I am very sorry!!! I had no idea this will involve FTU. I leave in Newcastle and I really wanted to attend. However this involve extra travelling /spending to get to London so I was looking for a last minute discounted ticket easily transferable. Thank you for your time and I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

As far as a discount, tickets like mine were purchased from FTU thru a promotional offer of £100 off of the normal price (which, as you say, would wonderfully offset the cost of travel to London).
As for a transfer, the official FTU deadline for transfers has passed, so it would be a matter of politely inquiring if one might still be possible, optimistically perhaps so, but with the understanding that this event is tomorrow and it may very well not be.
