Every few weeks or so, I get to share the return of a decent car rental promo. Virgin and Avis are currently offering 6,000 bonus miles for car group C rentals (or above) of three days (or more), booked between now and 5th June 2018, and consumed between now and 15 December:

The booking link is on the Virgin offer page here, and here are the full terms and conditions:

Booking period: 1st May – 5th June, 2018
Rental period: 1st May – 15th December, 2018

Discount offer excludes rentals taking place in July and August for all eligible rental countries and locations

Discount offer excludes rentals taking place in June for Russia and October for South Africa

Mileage offer is applicable with no blackout periods during the promotion period.

Applies to car group C and above

Applies to rentals 3 days or more

Valid across the US (North America and Canada), UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia

The discount and mileage offer applies in conjunction with one another when booked via www.avisworld.com/virginatlantic No other discounts or offers apply with this promotion

Note the geographical restrictions. Like last time, the geography knowledge of the comedy genius writing up the t&cs for this offer is on show – I certainly was unaware that the United States is made up of “North America and Canada” ?

Bottom line

As always, make sure you shop around to ensure that the rate is genuinely competitive. On the face of it though, 6,000 bonus miles does sound like a very decent rebate for a three-day rental, so you shouldn’t do too badly. It also seems that you can trigger the bonus multiple times if you are looking to really boost your Virgin account. There is nothing in the t&cs suggesting that the bonus will only be awarded once.

Warning: these points might never post. I booked using this offer for a trip to Malta back in Feb. Not only was it a crap vehicle but I’m pretty sure I got charged more than i was quoted when I booked. The confirmation email sent by avis did not list the quoted price so there was no way for me to crosscheck. So this is a warning if you choose the pay on pickup option – be sure to screenshot your original quote.

I got the last one of these deals twice, so I suspect there is a good chance you can get this one more than once. That said, that one was for rentals of two days or more though, so they have changed at least one condition.
