ACT QUICKLY: 1000 Bonus Clubcard Points for every selected HP ink cartridge sold directly by Tesco

Some links to products and partners on this website will earn an affiliate commission.

It appears that Tesco, along with HP, is running a very generous promotion on HP ink cartridges – offering 1,000 Bonus Clubcard Points per cartridge.

The deal

It is very simple: if you buy an eligible HP ink cartridge sold directly by Tesco, you will earn 1000 bonus Clubcard Points on top of your ordinary earning and credit card and shopping portal bonuses.

To get this offer, simply visit Tesco Direct, search for HP ink cartridges and purchase selected items. It looks like you can only buy up to 10 cartridges but you can add the numbers up by simply buying different types of cartridges. I tried making a second order with the same items in the basket and I have no issues getting them to the payment page.

The cheaper cartridges are now sold out, leaving the £19+ items for grabs

Important reminder

Remember, in order to ensure you earn the bonuses, make sure the cartridges are sold directly by Tesco, not their partners. You will earn zero bonus points from the partners. I think this is a legit promotion and I hope Tesco will fulfil its promise on the bonus points.

Also, Tesco caps Clubcard balance on an account to 30,000 points. Any extra earnings above that may be wiped out.

How to earn even more points on this purchase?

To earn even more points, I suggest you visit British Airway’s shopping portal, as you will earn 2 Avios per £1 spent with Tesco Direct.

Payment summary of my order

Here is a screenshot of payment summary of my order. I bought 10 HP 364XL High Yield Black Original Printer Ink Cartridge and 5 extra HP 342 Tri-colour Original Ink Cartridge. They each cost £19 and £20, with a total of £290. However, if you use the code TDX-HKFY, you will get £20 off £150 or more on electrical and gaming items.

Bottom line

Given 600 Avios can be exchanged for every £2.50 voucher, this is a rather excellent deal.

For £270, I would earn 36,600 Avios points – and there is the possibility of reselling the cartridges too of course.

I personally think this deal is an excellent way to top up your account for any upcoming future trips. I usually redeem Avios points for last minute flights, even as late as when I arrive at the airport, so I have no issues in making the £270 back, even before I resell the cartridges via sites such as eBay.

There is a lot of bulk orders getting cancelled like 10’s and even as low as 3’s.
A Hat Tip should be given to Glyno over on PTS for breaking this deal before HFP took the info and made a newsflash article later in the day.

    Well done Glyno.

Tesco have finally woken up and pulled the offer. Hope everyone got in in time!
