Hilton hotels have just launched two separate sales offering some potentially interesting far flung destinations at bargain prices.

Japan at 50% off

First up is a 72 hour flash sale for Japan, offering as much as (a quite staggering) 50% off.

To benefit from the Hilton sale in Japan, you need to book by 19 May, but the sale rates apply to stays any time up to 30 December 2017. To get the full 50% off (rather than 45%) you need to be a Hilton Honors member, but that’s free to join, here.

50% off? Really?

Yes. This isn’t simply an “up to 50%” offer with very few rooms available at the full 50% discount. Taking random dates at both the Hilton Tokyo and the (excellent) Conrad Tokyo, we were very easily able to find the full 50% discount.

Here’s the Hilton Tokyo at 50% off (random date, 9 June):

Here’s the Conrad Tokyo at 50% off (random date, 10 June):

With the full 50% off readily available, you could be getting a real bargain here. Hotel stays in Japan are not cheap, and this is a great way to get real value.

The full list of participating properties in the Hilton Japan flash sale is on this page.

25% off in the Middle East and Africa

In addition to the genuinely fantastic deals in Japan,  there’s also a very solid discount currently available on stays in Africa and the Middle East, via a second Hilton sale.

Some of the more interesting destinations at 25% off include:

  • Dubai
  • Istanbul
  • Seychelles
  • Mauritius
  • Cairo
  • Cape Town
  • Addis Ababa
  • Doha
  • Abu Dhabi
  • Kuwait City

Taking Dubai as an example, there are some genuine bargains to be had here, too:

To benefit from the Africa/Middle East 25% Hilton sale, you need to book by 4 September 2017 and complete stays on between May 19, 2017 and October 8, 2017

Technically you need to stay on a weekend, although you will probably find that in many cases the 25% discount is loaded more widely on the system. If not, “weekend” is defined as Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights or (in Turkey, Lebanon, Morocco, Africa) as Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

I’m booking my Tokyo hotels for November to accompany my €600 Qatar biz flights right now! £169 before tax for the Hilton is amazing and avoids me having to burn my points.

This is becoming my “flash sale” trip…
