Win ‘Free Travel for Life’ From Marriott (But Don’t Get Too Excited…)

Marriott Rewards is offering the opportunity to win ‘free travel for life’ – to one extremely lucky winner.

Free travel for life is defined as 3.75 Million Marriott Rewards Points – enough for 5 nights at a Category 5 hotel every year for 30 years. I’m not sure that would necessarily satisfy the lifetime wanderlust of many InsideFlyer readers, but it’s certainly a massive stack of Points!

Note that unless you’re a resident of the USA you need to OPT IN to the competition by completing a quick form at the bottom of the page here.

Once you’ve done that, between 1st March 2017 – 31 May 2017, you will get an entry every time you use the Marriott Mobile App to:

  • make a reservation (up to 20 entries)
  • check-in (up to 20 entries)
  • make mobile requests (up to 20 entries)

That’s a maximum of 60 entries in total.

How to enter without staying or using the mobile app

According to the rules, you can also enter the competition without making any stays at all by doing the following:

“Hand print your name, address, day and evening phone numbers, email address, Rewards Account number, and date of birth on a 3″ x 5” piece of paper and mail it in an envelope with sufficient postage to “Marriott Mobile App Travel For Life,” c/o HelloWorld, Inc., P.O. Box 5029, Department 829846, Kalamazoo, MI 49003-5029.

All mail-in entries must be postmarked by 31 May 2017 and received by 7 June 2017.

One mail-in entry request per outer envelope. Each complete email/mail request will constitute three (3) entries into the Prize Draw. You may mail in or email, as applicable, up to twenty (20) email/mail entry requests.”

Why I wouldn’t get too excited

When you remember that Marriott Rewards has at least 34 million members and that US-based members are automatically enrolled, I don’t rate your chances of winning as being very high…

That said, 3.75 million Points is a heck of a prize and it doesn’t cost anything to register (apart from 15 seconds of your time), so I  thought I might as well sign up.

Bottom line

Free travel for life is a great headline for the promotion. The details don’t quite live up to that, but it’s certainly still a great prize, even the if the chances of winning are tiny!

Good luck!

    If I win, I’ll convert them to Starpoints and then to 1,560,000 Avios 🙂
    Well, maybe not, but would give you a lot of options for a few very nice holidays rather than one average one every year for 30 years.

    Also, looking at the T’s and C’s, it looks like you can enter via email outside the US:

    1) FOR RESIDENTS OF JURISDICTIONS EXCEPT FOR RESIDENTS OF THE
    UNITED STATES (INCLUDING PR AND USVI): During the Promotion Period, send
    an email to [email protected] and include the
    following information:
    a. Your name;
    b. Your complete residential address;
    c. A valid email address at which you can be contacted;
    d. Your Rewards Account number; and
    e. Your date of birth.

    I fired one off, and got a reply:
    “Hello,

    Your entry request has been received for review. Good luck!”
