2,000 Points Daily – Hilton HHonors Unveils its Next 2017 Promotion

As we’ve previously flagged, a number of fantastic Hilton deals are all sadly ending on 31 January. The good news is that Hilton have just released details of their new promotion, running from 1 February to 30 April 2017, and it’s pretty good.

HHonors Logo

I sometimes mock them for it, but one thing I actually do like about Hilton HHonor’s promos are their simplicity and consistency – there’s no complicated multiple bookings required, nor are certain members given fantastic offers while others are subjected to much worse incentives (IHG Acccelerate springs to mind on this front).

The latest promo – running from 1 February

The latest Hilton HHonors promo is called 2K Every Day. Per the communication we have received from Hilton, you will need to register (not yet open) and will then benefit from the new promo as follows:

  • Earn 2,000 bonus HHonors points on every stay, every day at over 4,700 hotels worldwide
  • Stay dates February 1 – April 30, 2017
  • Registration required
  • No minimum or maximum stay requirements, no maximum on how much you can earn

An example

Hilton’s own points-earning example is as follows:

Here’s an example of potential earn for a typical two-night stay: 3,000 Base Points + 1,500 Points & Points Bonus + 4,000 2K Every Day Bonus = 8,500 Points (33% more Points than you would earn under the Double Points offers we ran last year)

While it doesn’t quite reach the heights of (and so amazing deals available via) the triple points plus 5K points option that was available up to 31 January, Hilton are right to flag the fact that, on your average stay, 2K bonus points a day is probably more generous than double points (what they fail to mention of course, is Hilton were also offering triple points via the app, too – which it’s probably not more generous than!).

Given that with any double points promo it’s only the “base points” which are doubled (10 per $1 spent), you’d need to be spending more than $200 a on your stay for the 2K Every Day bonus to be worse value than a double points promo.

You can still combine this with the Winter Sale…

So there we have it – you can look forward to a bonus 2,000 Hilton HHonors points per day on your February to April stays. Note that with the Winter Sale running to 31 January and applying discounts for the whole of this 2,000 point bonus period, now may be a good time to book. Even if you book before the promo is live, provided that you register for it before your stay you are certain to get the additional points.

Needless to say, we will let you know as soon as the link to register is live.

It would be great to know if this promo will cover all stays including those already booked for these dates or only for new bookings… 🙂

Hi Ben – per the post, I fully expect the 2k points bonus to apply to existing bookings, provided only that you register for the promo in advance of your stay. Certainly that would be consistent with the “Double UP” double points promo that’s coming to an end (“Hilton HHonors™ members must first register at HHonors.com/DoubleUp/UK prior to completing a stay within the Promotion Period“).

I’d hope so too. I plan a stay in early Feb. Obviously the closer to the date, the more expensive the rates are, so I’m going to book now and hope that the registration opens soon.

Many of these HHonors “X points per night/stay” also apply to points-only stays, with higher success likely if you charge something to your room and earn a few HHonors points.

Curious to see if that will be the case with this promo.

      Hi all,

I am staying on a HHonors points only stay tomorrow.
I have registered for the 2k promotion i wonder if I will get the 2k points added to my account, I will let you know!

Yes, please do. It may be worth ordering a coke/orange juice/water to your room, as historically this has led to increased success in earning bonus points on rewards stays.
