Bangkok:

Availability seems excellent for the dates and destinations that I checked.

An added bonus with these fares is that the rules state you can have a stopover in Muscat en route free of charge – Oman and Zanzibar on one trip would make for a brilliantly exotic adventure!

Using the multi-city search feature on the Oman Air site itself (or asking a decent travel agent) is probably the best way to book a stopover.

Is Oman Air Business Class any good?

Yep!

There are currently two Oman Air Business Class products on the market. The old Business Class is very popular as it feels more like an old-fashioned First Class than Business,

but the new Business Class is meant to be extremely good too

What Miles can I earn?

Oman Air is not a member of any of the big alliances, but you can earn Etihad Guest Miles at a rate of 150% of flown Miles. A Return to Bangkok, for example, would therefore earn about 18,000 Miles. Remember that you can easily pool Etihad Miles in a family account, so could potentially earn a very useful amount if there’s more than one person flying.

Alternatively, you could get 200% of the flown Miles in Oman Air’s own Sindbad loyalty programme, but I confess total ignorance about Sindbad…

Bottom line

Another excellent Business Class sale with a very good airline.

It’s not quite as exciting as the recent ~£540 Qatar sale to Tokyo, but it’s still great value. If you value the stopover in Muscat and like earning Etihad Miles, it’s a steal!

Thanks to our good friends and colleagues at InsideFlyer Germany for this one!

I just can’t see those Zanzibar prices? Do I need to do something special? Do they definitely run through to and including November? Thanks!

    • Joe Deeney says

No nothing special. I’ve just had a quick look on Kayak and can see plenty of availability for £936-947 heading out 2-5 November coming back between 7-13th November, for example. What dates are you looking for?

      • David2910 says

Unfortunately I just can’t see this? Trying for 9 night stays using ITA, on those dates you mention? Must be doing something wrong, will try kayak. Thanks!

Hi David – sometimes ITA doesn’t see some sale fares (I’ve no idea why). Hope you had some luck with Kayak!
