American Express is currently offering cardholders £20 off UK Hilton (or Hampton, Garden Inn etc) stays when you spend £100+.

You need to register your card here, and stay (complete check out) by 31st January 2017. The full list of participating hotels can be found here.

You can only get the £20 statement credit once per registered card.

The offer doesn’t seem to be targeted as far as I can tell (I was able to register all my American Express issued cards), but the American Express cards issued by other lenders (like MBNA etc) are not eligible.

Registering also signs you up for £20 off £100 spend with Avis Car Rental too.

Bottom line

Hilton really is spoiling us with overlapping promotions at the moment.

Note that it should be possible to stack this offer with the 5000 bonus Hilton HHonors Points offer for paying with a Visa. To trigger the 5,000 bonus you just need to pay at least some of the bill by Visa (and register, book using the app etc), so if your bill is over £100, ask to pay using two cards – stick at least £100 on your Amex and anything else on your Visa.

Worked fine for me with both my Amex Gold card and BA Premium Plus card, and I definitely didn’t get invited. The first I heard about it was reading Joe’s article this evening!

I do not see this offer on my BA AMEX card so maybe it is relevant only to unbranded amex cards even if they were issued by amex?

The offer doesn’t appear on your card like standard Amex offers (or hasn’t yet, at least) – you need to register through the special link in Joe’s article.

      Hi Richard,

I think it should work fine IF the hotel actually bills you at the time of booking. Sometimes hotels don’t process the payment until checkout, even for supposedly prepayable/nonrefundable rates. If you’d stay anyway there’s certainly no harm in trying, but I wouldn’t rely on it 100%.
