With the age-old British tradition of “Black Friday” on the horizon, retailers are already starting to get their offers up and running. As of today, the Avios.com eStore and British Airways Gate 365 shopping portals are both offering double Avios for purchases from a number of retailers.

 bonus-avios

I generally value Avios at about 1p each, so there are some pretty good deals here – definitely worth taking a look if you need to buy/book something anyway!

Not least in the run up to Christmas, interesting offers include:

  • Lego at 10 Avios per £1
  • Groupon at 10 Avios per £1
  • M&A at 8 Avios per £1
  • Hotels.com at 8 Avios per £1
  • Apple at 8 Avios per £1
  • ASOS at 8 Avios per £1
  • House of Fraser at 4 Avios per £1
  • John Lewis at 4 Avios per £1
  • Tesco Direct at 4 Avios per £1
  • Argos at 4 Avios per £1

What are the Avios eStore and Gate 365?

Rather like the cashback sites, Avios eStore and BA’s Gate 365 give you a rebate for shopping with everyday online retailers if you click through to them from their portal.

As such, if these are retailers you would ordinarily visit, it is a great way of earning Avios on transactions you would have made anyway.

One warning

Double Avios can give you some great added value on purchases. However, before you commit to a Gate 365 or Avios eStore purchase, check the offer on cashback giants TopCashback or Quidco.

If the cashback is better (and we’d use 1 pence per Avios as your benchmark), that’s obviously the place to go.

If you don’t already have a TopCashback account, sign up through this exclusive link and you will receive 1,250 bonus Avios, simply for signing up and spending £10.00 or more at any merchant.

Black Friday is not an age old British tradition !
Its been an excuse for a sale for only a few years in the UK.
Most of us only heard about it when the news started reporting the near-on riots in American shops as people beat each other up to grab a cheap TV.
