Accor hotels (Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure, Ibis, etc) is offering up to 50% off for bookings made by 12th November (tomorrow!), for stays between 18th November – 5th March.

Accor Plus‘ members receive 50% off + free breakfast, Accor ‘Le Club’ members receive 40% off + free breakfast, and non-members just get 40% off.

All you need to do is head to the special booking page, login to your account and then search as normal.

It’s worth pointing out that not every Accor property is participating in the sale (a lot of them aren’t), so you might want to check the full list of participating hotels here.

The discounted rates seem to be derived from the standard flexible rate, despite being non-refundable themselves, so the ‘real’ discount will usually be less than the headline figure.

Being Accor, the IT behind the sale isn’t exactly perfect, so you may notice some odd things. I did a few quick searches and the discount seems to be working fine, but the rates kept showing as not including breakfast – despite what the terms of the promotion say. If you have a similar issue, I would simply send Accor a quick email to make sure you get the breakfast added to your rate free of charge, as per the terms.

The cheapest standard (flexible) rate at the MGallery in Cologne for a night in December, for example, is 155 Euros for a non-member.

The sale rate is 93 Euros – which is a saving of precisely 40%.

See how the rate specifically says “Breakfast not included” though…

Bottom line

I think Accor is pretty underrated overall, but there’s no denying it has its quirks!

The sale offers some genuinely good discounts and the fact you can book for dates all the way through to March is useful, but don’t forget to make sure you get your breakfast included!

Hi Joe, can I ask you where you sourced the details of the offer I.e. accor plus get 50% + breakfast etc…?

I’m having a bit of a nightmare at one of the participating hotels which I attempted to book at the time that the promotion was available.

Mant thanks for all your good work. Cheers

    Andrew

Hi Andrew – cheers for the kind words!

Straight from the terms and conditions on the offer page (fortunately it’s still up here http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/promotion/specials/chinadouble11.shtml):

      General terms and conditions:

When booking one of these offers, the customer agrees to have read and accepted the following terms and conditions:

      – This offer is valid for bookings made between 10th November to 12th November, 2016 and for stays between 18th November, 2016 and 5th March, 2017.(All above dates are inclusive and based on local time of the hotel on which room(s) are being booked.)
      – The 50% discount on room + free breakfast for two is granted to Accor Plus members.
      – The 40% discount on room + free breakfast for two is granted to Le Club AccorHotels members.
      – The 40% discount on room is granted to general public.
      – The discount applies to public rates without conditions for the dates requested at booking.
      – Payment must be made online by credit card at the time of booking. Upon booking, if the “AccorHotels Booking Festival” rate is not available for all the dates requested, another public rate will be suggested automatically on the rate screen. Bookings cannot be changed, cancelled, exchanged or reimbursed, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount(s) or special offers
      – Prices displayed are for single or double rooms per night. These prices are in local currency or US dollar currency (as stipulated at the time of booking) and are inclusive of all local taxes unless otherwise stipulated. Exchange rates are given for information purposes only and are non-binding. Currency applicable to the transaction and charged to your credit card are confirmed upon booking.
      – This offer is valid at participating AccorHotels hotels, subject to availability at time of booking and excludes black-out dates set by participating hotels.

Cheers for this Joe. They’ve got back to me saying that this offer was exclusive to restrained user group, namely the Chinese market and should have only been available via Chinese point of sale

    • Joe Deeney says

Hi Andrew – sorry to hear you’re still having an issue.

What they are saying appears to be total nonsense – send them the link to the page and the terms and conditions on that page. Firstly, the page is in English, not Mandarin – which would an odd choice for a China-only promo. The page is publicly available, not restricted in any way. The Accor system allowed you to book the rate when signed into your non-Chinese Accor account. The terms and conditions make no reference to any restricted user group, or indeed any restrictions whatsoever.

Accors “intention” for the promotion is totally irrelevant – it’s the published terms that matter.

Basically, they need to stop wasting your time and get things sorted out for you.
