SkyTeam (Delta, Air France, KLM) £790 BUSINESS Class Return to USA!

Hot on the heels of the superb British Airways/Iberia/AA transatlantic Business Class sale last week,  Air France, KLM, Delta and Air Europa are now offering some incredible fares to the USA too! – this time from Madrid.

The best prices seem to be between Madrid and New York, but I found similar prices to Chicago and you might be able to find deals to other US cities too.

Availability is excellent and seems to run roughly from the end of September all the way through to May. I very much doubt these prices will continue to be offered for long though, so if you’re interested I wouldn’t wait too long to book!

I am by no means an expert on Skyteam (!), so I can’t really offer much advice on where it’s best to credit the Miles you would earn. KLM/Air France Flying Blue has a reasonable award chart, regular award sales and you can top your balance up with American Express Membership Rewards – so could be a good option? (please share in the comments if there are better ideas!)

Similarly, I haven’t actually flown in Business Class on any of the possible airlines here, but the new Air France Business Class looks pretty swish if you can work it into your itinerary.

Air Europa don’t look anywhere near as impressive, but the flights are direct!

Yes you have to get yourself to Madrid and back, but you can use Avios from London or Manchester if there aren’t any cheap flights, and under £800.00 for transatlantic Business Class is a great price!

I flew Delta from AMS to SEA in ‘Delta One’ (business class with 1-2-1 layout), it was damn fine. The nice thing about Delta for UK flyers is that you can credit to VS.
Air France / KLM: if you have a deep dislike of Skyteam, you could always credit to Alaska Mileage Plan.

      Thanks Ryan – great tips!

I’d completely forgotten about crediting to Virgin or Alaska.

By my reckoning, the Air France flights should pick up about 10,000-11,000 Alaska Miles (~25% of the Miles needed for a one way between Europe and Hong Kong in Cathay Business Class!)

Flying Delta (depending on exact route) should earn something more like 12,000-13,000 Miles, and would also get you 2 thirds of the way to Virgin Silver status (10 tier points when you need 15).
