I just posted about how everyone can get free car hire this summer, thanks to a fantastic offer from Hertz and Accor ‘Le Club’.

I mentioned at the end of that post that anyone who has Gold or Platinum status with Accor ‘Le Club’ should hold off on taking advantage of the offer, until reading this one. The reason being that for Accor elites, the Hertz offer is even sweeter.

As well as the 900 Points that everyone can get (which can get you at least one day of free car hire), ‘Le Club’ members with Gold status can get free “Five Star” Hertz status, and Platinum members can get free “President’s Circle” Hertz status.

To get the free Hertz status, Le Club Golds have to use this link and enter 826777 in the “CDP Number” box on the first page of the application.

Le Club Platinum members have to use this link and enter 826680 in the “CDP Number” box on the first page of the application.

As I mentioned in the previous post, the Hertz website is dreadful and you will probably have to send an email to get your Points and status, but follow the rest of the steps in that original post to give yourself the best chance of resolving things quickly and easily.

Is free Hertz status worth having?

Honestly, I don’t really know – but it can’t hurt! I don’t have any personal experience and some people seem to think it’s great while others act like it’s barely worth the paper it’s written on.

I imagine that how the benefits work out in practice probably varies a lot between different offices – but free Hertz status has got to be better than no status surely!
