In the latest installment of our (inexplicably popular…), #TrainTuesday series, we’ve got a quick tip for 20% off Railcards.

All you need to do to get the 20% discount is head over to the Railcard website before next Monday (18th July) and enter the code SUMMER into the promotional codes box.

The 20% discount brings the price of all of the following from £30.00 down to £24.00 for a year:

16-25 Railcard – 1/3 off Standard Anytime, Off-Peak, Standard Advanced and First Class Advanced fares, for anyone aged 16 to 25, or over 25 and in full-time study.

Two Together Railcard – 1/3 off Standard and First Class Anytime, Off-Peak and Advanced fares, for two named people travelling together, aged 16 or over.

Family & Friends Railcard – 1/3 off for adults and 60% off for kids on most rail fares, for up to 4 adults when travelling with up to 4 children aged 5-15.

Senior Railcard –  1/3 off Standard and First Class Anytime, Off Peak and Advance fares, for anyone aged 60 or over.

The same code (SUMMER) also knocks 10% off the price a Disabled Person’s Railcard – reducing the cost from £20.00 to £18.00. A Disabled Person’s Railcard gets the holder 1/3 off Standard and First Class Anytime, Off-Peak and Advance fares, for themselves and a friend.

If you are eligible for a card and likely to spend £75.00 or more on qualifying rail travel in the next year, it’s worth taking advantage of the offer. I used to love my 16-25 Railcard – it saved me £100.00s!

Cashback?

TopCashback are offering 5.25% for the 16-25 Railcard and the Family & Friends Railcard. Slightly oddly, the other varieties aren’t listed, but that may just be an oversight.

I don’t know for certain whether using the discount code will stop the cashback from tracking properly, but there’s no harm in trying!

Useful tip for anyone wanting to keep their 16-25 Railcard. Always renew it the day before your 26th birthday and you get a bonus year out of it.
